PRIVACY POLICY

White Spot Communications does not collect any personal data via this website.

As a PR service provider, I hold lists of media contacts that I have approached, or may wish to approach, on behalf of my clients. The information I hold is restricted to:

Names

Company names

Job titles

Email addresses

Phone numbers

Twitter handles

The data I have about you will have been either researched from publicly visible sources, such as the contact pages of your company's website or publication, or been provided directly to me by the contact.

WHY DO YOU HAVE MY CONTACT DETAILS?

If you're a journalist or blogger and you've been informed that you're on one of my media lists, that will be for one or more of the following reasons:

I've contacted you in the past with stories that I think will be of interest to your readership

I have current clients whose stories I believe will be of interest to your readership.

When I informed you by email that I was holding your contact details, you will have been given the opportunity to opt out of the list. If you did not do so, I will have retained your details. However, if you wish to opt out now, you're entitled to do so (see below).

WHY DO YOU THINK YOUR CLIENTS WILL BE OF INTEREST TO ME?

I'll only share a story with you if I have a good reason to believe that my client's story is relevant to your readership and may be of interest to them. This could be due to their industry, product or service, geographical location or any other key feature of their story.

HOW DO YOU INTEND TO USE MY CONTACT DETAILS?

I will only contact you for the following reasons:

To share a press release with you about a story that I believe will be of interest

To offer you the opportunity to speak to a spokesperson who could contribute to a story you're running or may consider running

To invite you to something fun or interesting, such as a White Spot Communications networking or client event.

What I will NOT do with your contact details:

Share them with 'third parties' – which means anybody outside White Spot Communications – without your express permission

Add you to a mailing list, newsletter or other impersonal means of communication without your express permission

Send you 'blanket emails' about topics that are unlikely to be of interest or relevance to your readership.

HOW LONG WILL YOU KEEP MY CONTACT DETAILS?

If you write about a niche or specialist subject and it's unlikely that I will have suitable stories to offer you in the near future, I'll remove your details from my list as soon as the relevant PR project is completed.

Some journalists have a broad brief that I would consider relevant to many of my clients, both current and future. For example, if you are a journalist working on local media in the Kent area, I will often have relevant stories to share with you because most of my clients are local companies.

In situations such as this, I would find it reasonable to retain your contact details for future use.

CAN I SEE THE INFORMATION YOU HAVE ABOUT ME?

Absolutely – simply email me at jane@whitespotcomms.co.uk and ask to see your data record.

CAN I GET MY CONTACT DETAILS DELETED FROM YOUR RECORDS?

Again, absolutely – contact me via email to request a removal and I'll take care of that right away.
