After what feels like ages, I’m delighted to finally go live with my new website for White Spot Communications.
As a qualified freelance journalist and experienced editor, my entire career has been about telling stories. This year, with the Covid-19 pandemic wreaking havoc on people’s lives and livelihoods, I’ve been prompted to reconsider how I can use my skills to help small businesses.
Thousands of people have already lost their jobs this year or will lose their employment in the months to come. Some have made the choice to leave unstable industries and strike out on their own. But, regardless of whether they jumped or were pushed, we can expect to see a significant rise in the number of people becoming self-employed or starting new businesses.
Blogging services for small business
If you’re starting a new business, you will have plenty on your plate already. Thinking about digital content to share on social media – such as starting a blog – may seem like one job too many, or something that needs to go onto the back burner.
But, whether you’re a plumber, a hairdresser or a financial advisor, finding new customers and building awareness of your business is a pretty important job, right?
By failing to take advantage of the fantastic exposure offered by blogs and social media, small businesses can miss out on all the benefits of telling their story and being properly seen online. But a lack of time, ideas or budget can be a real problem for busy people.
This is where I want to help. This year I’ve undertaken some extra training in social media strategy and search engine optimisation (SEO) with the brilliant Pitman Training. Now I can offer a ‘blogging virtual assistant’ service for small businesses, producing SEO-savvy blogs and other digital content to get your brand seen by the right people.
Affordable, bespoke blog writing
I think that small businesses are the life blood of the UK and as such, they deserve to have meaningful content that doesn’t break the bank. Whether you just need one blog per month, the odd announcement here or there, or a complete ebook, I can now offer no-strings support whenever and however you need it.
There are no set fees, rigid packages or tied-in contracts – every client’s needs are different, so bespoke is the only way to go.
If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that life happens and businesses have to stay agile to keep in step with an uncertain world. So, flexibility and affordability are vital when small businesses need support.
